The Chestnut Hill College Men's Tennis team closed out the fall portion of their season Tuesday afternoon on a positive note, defeating West Chester University 6-1 and WCU's South Campus Courts in West Chester, Pennsylvania.
The Griffins finish the fall portion of their season at 1-1.
Chestnut Hill jumped out to an early 1-0 lead, capturing the doubles point with a sweep of all three doubles matches.Â
Tom Pitchley and
Noah Cutting were victors at #1 doubles 6-3  over Andre Zequeira and Felix Weber followed by
Domagoj Dugandzic and
Mark Gladkyy recording a 6-3 win at #3 doubles over Christopher Baroudi and Aiden Cashen to secure the doubles point.
Joseph Gregory Kvint and
Joao Sousa teamed up to win the final doubles match, 6-1 over Nic Balaci and Cesar DeJesus-Morale at #2 doubles.
In singles competition, Cutting earned the first of 5 CHC singles points with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Weber at #2 singles. Pitchley followed with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Zequeira at #1 singles. Sousa then secured the match win with the Griffins fourth point of the day, recording a 6-0, 6-3 win over Balaci at #4 singles.
Dugandzic (#5 singles) and Gregory Kvint (#3 singles) recorded the final two points for the Griffins. Dugandzic defeated Cashin 6-0, 6-2 while Gregory Kvint earned a hard fought 3-6, 7-6 (6-4), 1-0 (10-3) win over DeJesus-Morale.
The Chestnut Hill men's tennis team will return to action in the spring when they kick off Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play with a match against Post University on March 12, 2022.
