Box Score The Chestnut Hill College Women's Tennis team continued to battle for playoff position as they traveled to play University of the Sciences Wednesday afternoon. After solid doubles play by the Griffins, USciences won four of the six singles matches to edge Chestnut Hill, 4-3.
Chestnut Hill falls to 2-3 overall and in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play. The Griffins are currently tied for fourth place in the league standings with Goldey-Beacom College and hold the tiebreaker against the Lightning by virtue of their win over them last week. USciences is 4-1 in league standings and can finish no worse than third depending upon the outcome of their final match of the regular season.
Carlota Garcia and
Romi Meirovich teamed up to win at #1 doubles 6-4 while
Nele Haag and
Annika Wise secured the doubles point for Chestnut Hill with a 6-2 win at #2 doubles.
Garcia won her singles match 6-0, 6-1 competing at #1 singles while Meirovich won at #4 singles, 7-5, 7-6.
The Devils won at #2, #3, #5 and #6 singles to capture the match.
Chestnut Hill will play their final regular season match of the season on Saturday, October 16, 2021 when they host Dominican College at the Chestnut Hill college Tennis Courts beginning at noon.
