The Chestnut Hill Women's Soccer team visited a tough Jefferson University squad Wednesday afternoon at Ravenhill Field in Philadelphia, falling to the Rams 2-0.
The Griffins fall to 5-6-1 overall and 3-5 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) games. The Rams, now tied for first place in the league, improve to 7-1 in league play and 8-3-1 overall.
The two teams placed scoreless soccer for much of the first half until the Rams struck first with a goal in the 37
th minute. Jefferson added their second goal eight minutes into the second half and maintained the lead the rest of the way.
Bri Hewlett had six saves in goal for the Griffins
Chestnut Hill finished the game with four shots and two corner kicks. Jefferson had 19 shots and ten corner kicks.
The women's soccer team is back in action on Saturday, October 23, 2021 when they host Bloomfield College. Kickoff is set for 2:00 p.m.
