Lakewood, N.J. (10/6/2021) -   Maddie Jimenez provided all the offense the Chestnut Hill College  (3-4-1, 2-3) women's soccer team needed , scoring both goals as the Griffins defeated Georgian Court University (2-7, 1-3),  2-0 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action this afternoon.

The Griffins and Jimenez (Bensalem, Pa.)  wasted no time getting on the scoreboard with a little dribble and dance action that found the upper left corner of the net following a perfect pass from Abigail Galazka (Philadelphia, PA.) for the first score of the game. 

Georgian Court turned up the pressure following the goal, outshooting the Griffins 7-1 over the next 21 minutes, two of which were on net and saved by Griffin goalkeeper Bri Hewlett (North Wales, Pa.).  Meanwhile, the Griffins made the most of their shot opportunities, putting three of their four shots on net in the period, capped by Jimenez's second goal of the game and fourth of the season in the 41^st minute, a rip to the top left of the net.  Lizzie Stokes (Philadelphia, Pa.)  assisted on the play.

Defense took over in the second half, with the Griffins allowing just one shot on goal throughout the final 45 minutes of action.  Hewlett finished the game with four saves and her second shutout of the season.  Jimenez had six of the Griffins eight shots in the game with Galazka and Elizabeth Deal (Philadelphia, Pa.) recording the other two.

Chestnut Hill College returns to action on Sunday as they host CACC rival Felician College at Victory Field #1.  Kickoff is at 12:00 p.m.
