Philadelphia, Pa. - (3/9/2021) – Chestnut Hill College got their 2021 season underway this afternoon at Thomas Jefferson University. There, the Rams held the upper hand for the duration of the non-conference affair, pacing the Griffins to an 11-2 halftime spread and an eventual 20-2 final. Sophomore midfielders

st) netted goals for the Scarlet and Gold, while sophomore goalkeeper
Mel Amador (Cape May, N.J.) made a career-high 21 saves and recovered two ground balls in the loss (0-1).
Jefferson (1-0) netted the first five goals of the contest before sophomore attack
Emily Abe (Hagerstown, Md.) found Schwartz for the first Chestnut Hill College (0-1) goal, 5-1 (21:20). But the Rams scored three more times prior to Vassallo's unassisted score, 8-2 (4:57), and tallied three more goals afterwards to own an 11-2 halftime advantage. Following the break, Jefferson held the Griffins scoreless while adding 10 goals for the 18-point final spread.
Jefferson offered three players with at least three goals, senior midfielder Erin Eckert (Warrington, Pa.) was the best among them. She added two assists, three ground balls, four draws, and a caused turnover to her hattrick. In goal, sophomore Melanie Goldstein (Huntingdon Valley, Pa.) played a majority of the minutes (30:00) and recorded one save in the win (1-0).
Schwartz (3 shots) and Vassallo (2) accounted for all five of the Griffins shots. Schwartz added a pair of draws to her tally, while Vassallo corralled two draws in excess of her score. Freshman defender
