Jefferson (4-3, 2-3) took the upper hand with a 6-4 victory in the top team flight. But, Chestnut Hill College (3-5, 3-3) came back to claim the doubles point with a 7-6 number three doubles win from Vassalluzzo and sophomore
Carlota Garcia Arguelles (Madrid, Spain) and a 7-5 number two doubles win from Wise and fellow freshman
Lottie Allin (Darby, England).
The Rams tied the match at the start of singles play with their 6-1, 6-0, win at number two singles. However, the Griffins answered again. This time, Connor, Vassalluzzo, and Wise delivered the necessary scores individually with their respective wins in the fifth (7-5, 6-3), sixth (6-4, 6-4), and third (7-5, 6-4) flights, 4-1. The final two points were split with Jefferson taking the fourth flight 6-1, 6-7 (3), 6-3, before Garcia Arguelles finished off the match with her 1-6, 7-5, 7-5, number one singles win.
Chestnut Hill College continues their CACC schedule on Thursday, April 15, when they host Dominican College in a 2:30 p.m. match at Magarity Tennis Club of Flourtown, Pennsylvania.
