Bronxville, N.Y. - (4/25/2021) – The 2021 Spring Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Tennis Championship was decided today at the Meyers Tennis Center in Bronxville, New York. There, #1 Concordia College (NY) defeated #2 Chestnut Hill College by a 4-0 measure, winning number one (6-0) and number two (6-1) doubles before taking the top three singles flights in reverse order; #3 – 6-1, 6-2; #2 – 6-4, 6-3; #1 - 6-0, 3-6, 6-0.
Concordia College (8-0) earned the initial advantage as they collected the doubles point from Chestnut Hill College (5-6) with doubles win in the first (6-0) and second (6-1) flights. The effort of sophomore
Carlota Garcia Arguelles (Madrid, Spain) and
junior
Gianna Vassalluzzo (Newtown, Pa.) was left fruitless in the third flight as it remained unfinished.
In singles, the Clippers extended their lead with consecutive wins in the third (6-1, 6-2), second (6-4, 6-3), and first flights; Garcia Arguelles was the last of the Griffins to fall, fighting to a 6-0;3-6, 6-0, end in the top individual match.
