Philadelphia, Pa. - (9/18/2021) - Chestnut Hill College (0-2-3) scored their third consecutive tie with today's 1-1, double-overtime draw at Thomas Jefferson University (Jefferson) (1-1-1, 0-0-1). The Rams secured an early edge in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opener with a successful header from sophomore midfielder Gabe Paz (Mays Landing, N.J.), 1-0 (5:56). But their advantage disappeared in the final stretch as freshman midfielder Ariel Barreto (East Windsor, N.J.) and freshman forward Aidan McShane (Philadelphia, Pa.) facilitated a game-tying goal from freshman midfielder Manny Weagba Jr. (Langhorne, Pa.), 1-1 (86:49).

The contest remained tied for the last four minutes of regulation and a pair of overtime frames with the Griffins pressuring the Rams in the first extra frame and Jefferson taking the only two shots of the second additional period. Overall, the Rams held a slight 17-14 shot advantage. Chestnut Hill College owned the edge in corner kicks, 8-6. Weagba Jr. scored on his only shot, while junior forward Christian Torres (Parsippany, N.J.) led the Scarlet and Gold's shooting efforts with three strikes.

Chestnut Hill College returns to Victory Field #1 on Wednesday, September 22, for a brief break from conference play as they to host Queens College in a 7:00 p.m. contest.
