Caldwell, N.J. - (9/26/2021) - Chestnut Hill College pressured Caldwell University into a game-tying own goal just a minute after (1-1, 8:32) the Cougars scored the first goal of the game, 1-0 (7:24). The stalemate lasted until the 22nd minute (21:36), when the home side gabbed a 2-1 advantage with a streak through the middle of the box from sophomore forward Israel Dos Santos Neto (Salvador Bahia, Brazil). Caldwell University scored once more before halftime, 3-1 (40:55), leaving a second-half connection between graduate forwards,
Lucas de Sa (Bahia, Brazil) and
Miguel Marra (Ossining, N.Y.), 3-2 (79:39) as the start of a Scarlet and Gold rally. Unfortunately, the Cougars held their ground in the final 11 minutes (11:21).
de Sa repaid the assist debt from earlier this week when he found Marra for his second goal of the season at 79:39; it was the third time the duo combined for a Griffin goal this season. Freshman goalkeeper
Mahmoud Mahmoud (Falls Church, Va.) made two saves in the loss (0-3-3).
Chestnut Hill College returns to Victory Field #1 on Wednesday, Spetember 29, to host Holy Family University for a 7:00 p.m. CACC contest.
