Chestnut Hill College Scores Point at Five Singles, But Falls to Jefferson

Box Score Philadelphia, Pa. - (9/29/2021) - Chestnut Hill College (0-2, 0-2) earned the point at number five singles with a 2-6, 6-4, injury retirement, but Thomas Jefferson University (Jefferson) (3-2, 1-1) won two out of three doubles matches and the remaining five singles flight to win today's Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match by a 6-1 final. Freshman Romi Meirovich (Herzliya, Israel) earned the Griffins' lone point.

The Scarlet and Gold won number one doubles thanks to a 6-3 win from Meirovich and junior Carlota Garcia Arguelles (Madrid, Spain), but Ram wins at number three (6-0) anf number two (6-3) doubles already secured the team point for Jefferson, 1-0. The Rams proceeded to win two more singles points, 3-0, before Meirovich's retirement-win put Chestnut Hill College on the scoreboard, 3-1. Unfortunately, Jefferson clinched the victory with a 6-2, 6-4, win at number two singles and followed it with additional points at number four (6-4, 2-6, 6-0) and number three (7-6 (3), 6-4) singles, 6-1.

Chestnut Hill College continues their CACC schedule on Saturday, October 2, when they visit Post University for a 1:00 p.m. opening-serve.
