Philadelphia, Pa. - (9/4/2021) - Freshman forward Andrey McIntyre (Hanover, Jamaica) took the Purple Knights' defense on by himself in the 85th minute (84:36) of today's home opener, scoring the lone Chestnut Hill College goal in a 2-1 final versus St. Michael's College.

The visitors controlled the opening half and marked the contest's first score with a feed through the Griffin defense from senior midfielder Miguel Diaz (Madrid, Spain) and a strike from senior midfielder Luke Magnier (Shelburne, Vt.) at 16:10 (1-0).

The Purple Knights added to their advantage early in the second half. as a touch pass from junior forward Sebastian Kerr (Acton, Mass.) to Diaz ended up in the back of the Scarlet and Gold goal at 49:44 (2-0).

With their backs against the wall, Chestnut Hill College fought Saint Michael's College until the bitter end. A series of passes up the near sideline eventually delivered the ball to McIntyre just inside midfield. He beat his on-man defender to the right wing, dribbled through four Purple Knights for an easy boot into the left side of the net. The tally spirited the Scarlet and Gold for the final five minutes, unfortunately time ran out on the effort as a last-second corner sailed past the Saint Michael's College goal.

Chestnut Hill College returns to action on Tuesday, September 7, when they visit Shippensburg University for a 7:00 p.m.
