Men's Tennis Falls at Jefferson

The Chestnut Hill College Men's Tennis team faced Jefferson University Tuesday afternoon in a non-conference fall match at the Salaman Courts on the Jefferson campus, falling to the Rams, 6-1.

The Griffins are now 2-1 in the fall while the Rams improved to 4-0.

Jefferson took two of the three doubles matches to open play and earn the doubles point with Chestnut Hills lone win in doubles came at the #1 slot where Tom Pitchley and Noah Cutting earned a 7-5 win over German Andujar and Hubert Theriault.  

In singles play, Tono Franquis earned the Griffins only point when his opponent Mario Antonio retired with Franquis leading 7-5, 3-1.

Tiago Lima split his first two sets with Jules Thibault  before dropping the third set to fall 2-6, 6-4, 0-6 at #3 singles.  Tom Pitchley at #2 singles was the only other Griffins to win a set, winning the first set of his match 7-5 against Hubert Theriault before Theriault rebounded to take the match 5-7, 6-4, 1-0 (10-4).

The men's tennis team returns to action for their final fall match on October 19, 2022 when they host West Chester University at the CHC Tennis Courts. First serve is at 2:00 p.m.
