Chestnut Hill College Cross Country runners
Sydney Watts and
Christopher Nelson have been named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Men's and Women's Cross Country Weekly Honor rolls for their performance at last Saturday's Jack Saint Clair Memorial Invitational Meet.
Watts has now been named to the conference's Women's Cross Country Weekly Honor Roll five times this season. Nelson earns his third selection to the CACC Men's Cross Country Weekly Honor Roll.
In the women's race at Belmont Plateau, Watt placed eighth overall with a time of 25:32.4 for the challenging 6,000-meter course. Her efforts led the Griffins to a fifth place team finish out of the 16 teams scoring. Watts' time of 25:32.4 is also her fastest 6K time ever on the Belmont Plateau 6K course.
Nelson was the first collegiate finisher in the men's race and placed sixth overall with the five runners ahead of him all members of area track clubs. He completed the challenging Belmont Plateau 8,000-meter course in 28:24.1 and led the Griffins to a fifth place finish out of 12 scoring teams.
The CACC Cross Country Championship Meet is next for the Griffins' Women and Men's Cross Country teams. The meet will be on Sunday morning, October 30, 2022 at Belmont Plateau.
