A Pair of Men's Cross Country Runners Named to the 2025 CACC all-Academic Team

Two members of the Chestnut Hill College Men's Cross Country Team have been named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference 2025 All-Academic Team as announced by the conference office on Friday.

Named to this year's team are senior Braden Berkey and sophomore Thomas Gallagher.  Berkey and Gallagher, both first time honorees are among just 12 men's cross country runners representing six CACC institutions receiving all-academic team honors.

To be eligible for CACC All-Academic status, a student-athlete must possess a minimum cumulative grade-point average of 3.50, be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, and be in his/her second year at his/her current institution. New for 2025-26, honorees must also either compete in at least two-thirds of his/her team's meets or compete in the conference championship meet.

Berkey, an exercise science major, competed in every race for Chestnut Hill this season and was the Griffins top finisher at the CACC Championship meet. He was named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Men's Cross Country/Track and Field team for 2024-25.  He has also been earned Dean's List and CHC Athletic Academic Honor Roll accolades in each of the past four semesters at Chestnut hill, following his transfer into the school in January of 2024.  He has also earned CACC Academic Honor roll accolades ( based on semester g.p.a.) four times, including the fall 2025 semester.

Gallagher, a nursing major,  also competed in the CACC Championship meet back in October.  Gallagher has earned Dean's List and CHC Athletic Academic Honor Roll in each of his first three semesters at Chestnut Hill.  He has also been named to the CACC Academic Honor Roll three times.

Since joining the CACC for the 2007-08 season, 14 Griffin men's cross-country runners have been named to the CACC Men's Cross Country Academic Honor Rolls a total of 25 times.  Four men's cross country runners  have earned conference all-academic team honors three times with three additional runners have been recognized twice.
