The Chestnut Hill College Women's Bowling team kicked off their 2022-23 season on the official start date of NCAA bowling on Saturday at Jay Lanes against Kutztown University. The teams bowled two matches with each team earning a victory.

The first match was a 10 game baker set for total pins. Kutztown won that match 1790-1658. Senior
Maddie Gannon and Freshman
Maddy Feldschneider each filled 14/20 frames while
Chase Clifford added filling 5/6 frames.Â

The Griffins won the next event which was a best-of-7 baker match. The Griffins won 4.5-2.5 while averaging 181.8 in the seven matches with a high game of 232. Gannon filled 13/14 frames and struck on 48% of her attempts whileÂ
Eryn Moore filled 12/14 frames and struck on 57% of her attempts.Â

Chestnut Hill won the opening game in the best-of-7 format 197-184 before the golden Bears evened the match with a 159-152 victory in game two. The two teams tied at 169-169 for game three before the Griffins retook the lead in game four.

Kutztown again evened the match at 2.5-2.5 with a win in game five but the Griffins bowled their best game in game six scoring 232 to again take the lead before closing out the match with a win in the seventh and decisive game.

The Chestnut Hill College Women's Bowling team is back in action on Saturday and Sunday, October 8-9, hosting the Bud Whitman Memorial at Bowlerama in New Castle, Delaware.
