The Chestnut Hill College Women's Bowling team started competition at The Northeast Roundup on Saturday at Bowlerama in New Castle, Delaware.
The Griffins won one of their four matches in the traditional match format, defeating Loing Island University 842-818.  Chestnut Hill also suffered losses against Caldwell University, Kutztown University and Holy Family University.
Individually, Victoria Forbes had her best tournament day of the season, finishing the four matches plus the bye round with a total score of 1023 for a 204.6 average. That average placed her fourth overall among the 63 bowlers competing, earning a selection to the All-Tournament team. She finished the day with a 52% strike percentage for the traditional matches.
The Griffins win over LIU came in their last match of the day. Forbes rolled a score of 248, the second highest score of any individual that afternoon behind a 275 score from one of the Felician University bowlers. The senior bowler was produced a 100% effort for filled frames and single pin spares. Cora Olsen produced a score of 199 while Taylor Graham had a score of 164.
Chestnut Hill had opened the day with a bye round as the five bowlers combined for a score of 747. The Griffins then took on fellow Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference school Holy Family, narrowly losing to the Tigers 798-782. Forbes bowled a score of 200. Olsen scored 182 while Alexis Horton bowled a score of 170. Horton also finished the game with 100% single pin conversion effort.
An 875-811 loss to Kutztown followed. Horton and Olsen bowled identical scores of 179 while Forbes was the high bowler for the team with 184. Graham threw strikes on seven of 12 balls and Jess Bolling had a 100% single pin conversion rate.
Forbes bowled a score of 234 in the fourth contest as the Griffins lost to Caldwell, 930-780. She again was perfect in filling frames and along with Horton and Olsen produced a 100% single pin conversion mark.
The women's bowling team returns to action on Sunday at the Northeast Roundup, closing out their season with five baker format matches.
