The Chestnut Hill college Women's soccer team took a total of 26 shots on Saturday against Bloomfield College but put just one in the net as the Bears equaling the Griffins total with the two teams coming away with a 1-1 tie.
The Griffins are now 8-4-4 overall and 5-2-4 in Central Atlantic Collegiate conference games. The team currently sits in a three-way tie for third place in the league standings with one more conference game to play and can finish anywhere from third to sixth place depending upon the outcomes of the final regular season games.
After a scoreless first half that saw the Griffins outshoot the Bears 10-3 but failing to score, Bloomfield struck in the 61
st minute on a goal from Kayla Silva.  Less than a minute later, the Griffins had a free kick from the right side of the BC goalkeeper.Â
Maddie Camillo took the kick and the ball hit of a defender and the goalkeeper and landed in the net, tying the game at 1-1.
Chestnut Hill got 12 shots off in the final 22-plus minutes with just three of them on net, including a shot from
Lauren Sullivan in the 80
th minute that was heading for the upper right hand corner but was just saved by BC keeper Mia Phillip. The Bears barely threatened over the final 20 minutes but the Griffins were unable to capitalize on the opportunities provided them as the game remained and finished in a 1-1 tie.
The Chestnut Hill college Women's Soccer team will host Georgian Court University for their final regular season game on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at Victory Field in Lafayette Hill. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
