Griffins Shutout Dolphins for Second Win of Season

Timothy Kane scored for the second consecutive game as the Chestnut Hill College Men's soccer team won their second game of the season, defeating College of Staten Island 2-0 Wednesday night at victory Field in Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania.

The Griffins improve to 2-7-2 overall while the College of Staten Island falls to 3-8.

Kane found the back of the net late in the first half, taking a cross pass from Juan Molina and putting a shot past CSI goaltender Cole Enslen, giving the Griffins a 1-0 lead at the 39:31 mark.

Leading 1-0 heading into the second period, the Griffins struck for their final score just 1:54 into the half as Christian Torres fed Kane who passed to Jason Barragan for the second goal of the game.

Griffins goalkeepers Stephen Connor and Eran Shifris combined to record the Griffins first shutout since October 5, 2018.  Connor and Shifris had three saves apiece with Connor earning the win.

Chestnut Hill finished the game with 19 total shots (six on goal) while Staten Island also had six shots on goal (out of their ten total shots.)  The Griffins had three corner kicks while the Dolphins had just one.
