Griffins go 1-4 on Opening Day of Bud Whitman Memorial Invitational

The Chestnut Hill College women's bowling team competed in their traditional first tournament of the season, hosting the Bud Whitman memorial Invitational at Bowlerrama in New Castle, Delaware on Saturday.

In Saturday's traditional format matches, the Griffins went 1-4.

Maddie Gannon led the Griffins in the opening match as they lost to Coppin State university 848-801.  Gannon bowled a 190 in the match.

Delaware State defeated the Griffins in game two, 1040-831.  Eryn Moore led the team with a score of  194 while Jessica Hollabaugh bowled a 172.

Moore rolled a 209 in game three, but the Griffins dropped the contest to Kutztown 854-841.

Chestnut Hill's lone win came in the fourth game as they defeated Howard University 912-775.  Moore had her second consecutive 200-game rolling a 201 while Gannon bowled a 189.  Maddy Feldschneider bowled a 184.

The Griffins closed out the day with a 887-869 loss to fellow CACC team Wilmington University.  Hollabaugh led the way with a 247, the high score of the day among the 65 competitors in the tournament Gannon also had her high score of the day, bowling a 215 in the loss.

The Chestnut Hill College Women's Bowling team will conclude their competition at the Bud Whitman Memorial Invitational tomorrow with five matches utilizing the Baker format for scoring.
