The Chestnut Hill College Women's Volleyball team saw their season come to an end Monday night as they lost a hard-fought match to Bloomfield College, 3-0 (25-18, 25-22 and 25-19) in the quarterfinal round of the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship Tournament.
The Griffins, seeded #4 in the South Division were making their first appearance in the CACC Tournament since 2016. The Bear were seeded #1 in the North Division and will advance to the semi-finals hosted by Holy Family university later this week.
Senior
Henielys Ramos and sophomore
Erika Dubosky led the Griffins with seven kills apiece while senior
Mikayla Grimes added six, with the three players accounting for 20 of Chestnut Hill's 23 kills on the night.
Mia Caporellie finished the night with 20 assists and two service aces. Dubosky also had two aces.
On the defensive side,
Torrin Kelley led the Griffins with nine digs while Grimes added eight.
Kathryn Hanley had four blocks while Caporellie and Ramos had two apiece.
Bloomfield produced 15 more kills than the Griffins 38-23 while griffins finished with more attack errors (24) than kills (23) for just the first time this season. Both teams had five service aces and the bears held a 41-34 advantage in digs and a 9-5 advantage in team blocks.
The Chestnut Hill women's volleyball team conclude their season with a 14-15 record, equaling the most wins in a season in the program's NCAA Division II era history. The Griffins had 14 wins in the 2014 season (14-16) and repeated the mark in the 2019 season (14-13)
