The Chestnut Hill College Women's Basketball team's historic season came to an end Friday afternoon at the NCAA Division II East Region Tournament as the Griffins dropped a 59-53 decision to Pace University.
The Griffins finish their season at 24-7.  Chestnut Hill's 24 wins are the most in a single season in the history of the women's basketball program. The women's Basketball program made history this season by winning their first ever CACC South Division Regular Season Championship, hosting their first ever CACC Tournament game and winning their first ever CACC playoff game to reach the conference semi-finals. In addition, the team earned its first NCAA Tournament invitation in program history, being selected as a #2 seed in the East Region.

(Willow Grove, Pa.) closed out her stellar career with a game-high 20 points, finishing her career with 1,280 while moving into second place on the Griffins' all-time scoring list. Sebold also had two assists becoming the Griffins all-time leader with 478 for her career, one more than Mary Trossi's 477 (2015-19).
Bri Hewlett (North Wales, Pa.) added 15 points and seven rebounds while
Emily Chmiel (Doylestown, Pa.) chipped in eight points and also grabbed seven rebounds.
The Griffins rallied from a nine-point deficit in the third quarter with a 15-3 run overlapping the third and fourth quarters to take a 44-41 lead just 1:34 into the final stanza. The Setters scored the next seven points to lead 48-44 before a three-point basket from Sebold and a driving layup from Hewlett put the Griffins back on top 49-48. Jasmine White's three-point basket for Pace put the Setters back on top 51-49 and Chmiel followed with a putback to tie the game again at 51-51 with just 2:16 left. Pace then closed out the game with an 8-2 run, the last six coming from the free throw line to seal the win and end the Griffins' season.
For the game, Chestnut Hill shot 34.7% (17-49) from the field while Pace was slightly better at 39.6% (21-53). Pace also made seven of 14 shots from three-point range (50%). The Griffins outscored the Setters 16-10 on the free throw line. Both teams had 33 rebounds apiece and Pace finished the game with one less turnover (18-19).
