Men's Tennis Team Defeats USciences 5-2

The Chestnut Hill College men's tennis team recorded a convincing 5-2 win over University of the Sciences Tuesday evening at the Hamlin Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The win improves the Griffins record to 3-2 overall and 2-0 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference matches.  USciences falls to 1-4 overall and 0-3 in league play.

The Griffins started off the match by securing the doubles point with victories in the #2 and #3 doubles matches.  Noah Cutting and Mark Gladkyy won 6-3 at #2 doubles over Heimraj Resaul and Eli Gan-dy while João Sousa and Domagoj Dugandzic were a 6-1 winner over Brandon Gildea and Pedro Ramos.
 
In singles competition, Cutting gave the Griffins a 2-0 lead with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Jack Kosiorowski at #2 singles.  Sousa followed with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Resaul at the #4 slot and Gladkyy clinched the match with a 7-5, 6-1 win over Gildea at the #5 poistion, staking the Griffins to a 4-0 lead.

USciences' Gan-dy defeated Kvint 6-2, 6-0 at #3 singles to make the score 4-1.  Dugandzic scored the Griffins final point with a 6-4, 6-1 win over Ramos at the #5 slot.  Oscar Serra defeated Tom Pitchley  at #1 singles, 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 to give USciences their final point.

The Chestnut Hill Men's Tennis team returns to action on Saturday, March 26, 2022 when they host Jefferson University at the CHC Tennis Courts.  First serve is set for 12:00 p.m.
