The Chestnut Hill College Men's Tennis Team won their third straight match, defeating Jefferson University 4-3 Friday afternoon at the CHC Tennis Court to remain unbeaten in Central Atlantic collegiate conference games.
The Griffins improve to 4-2 overall and 3-0 in CACC matches.  Jefferson falls to 6-3 overall and 2-1 in league play.
Chestnut Hill opened the match by securing the doubles point with wins at #2 and #3 doubles. The team of
Domogoj Dugandzic (Stuttgart, Germany) and
João Sousa (Figueroa da Foz, Portugal) defeated Enrique Soto and Mateo Navarro at #3 doubles, 6-4 while the team of
Noah Cutting (Bury St. Edmonds, England) and
Mark Gladkyy (Vineland, N.J.) followed with a win over Hannibal Borg and Odissy Kavak, 6-4 at #2 doubles.
Tom Pitchley (London, England) gave the Griffins a 2-0 lead in the match, opening singles play with a 6-2, 7-5 win over Hubert Theriault at #1 singles.  Cutting made it 3-0 with a three-set win over Borg at #2 singles 3-6, 6-2, 6-1.
Jefferson got on the board with a win at #3 singles to make the score 3-1 before Sousa clinched the match win with a straight set 6-3, 6-4 victory over Navarro at #4 singles.
The final two matches of the day both went three sets as the Rams picked up wins in both to make the final score 4-3.
The Chestnut Hill College Men's Tennis team returns to action on Sunday with a newly added match at Division I Bucknell University. First serve is at 4:00 p.m.
