Romi Meirovich and
Annika Wise were singles winners as the Chestnut Hill College Women's Tennis team continued the spring portion of their season Wednesday afternoon, falling to Jefferson University at the Legacy Tennis Center in Philadelphia.
The Griffins are now 3-8 on the season. Jefferson is 9-6.
Chestnut Hill earned their only two points in singles competition as
Meirovich (Herzliya, Israel) and
Wise (Canberra, Australia) won their matches at #4 and #3 singles respectively. Meirovich was a three-set winner over Ines Blanc 3-6, 6-2, 7-5 at the #4 slot while Wise also won in three sets, defeating Stanislava Norets 7-5, 1-6, 6-0 at #3 singles.
Jefferson opened the competition with wins in two doubles matches to take the doubles point and then proceeded to win three singles matches on the courts and the fourth by default to take the match.
The Chestnut Hill Women's Tennis team returns to action for their final match of the spring season on Tuesday, March 29, 2022 when they host Saint Thomas Aquinas College at the CHC Tennis Courts. First serve is set for 2:30 p.m.
