Gannon Named to ECC Women's Bowling First Team All-Conference

Chestnut Hill College bowler Maddie Gannon has been named to the East Coast Conference Women's Bowling All-Conference team as a First Team honoree in an announcement by the league office on Friday

This year's honor marks the second consecutive year that Gannon (Glenolden, Pa.) has earned All-ECC first Team honors.

Gannon earned All-Tournament Team honors in four tournaments this season and was also named the ECC Bowler of the Week for the week ending February 13.

The junior bowler led the Griffins in overall scoring average, and ranked third in the conference, averaging 19.22 per frame.  Gannon was fourth in traditional scoring (19.38/frame) and fourth in Baker Format scoring (19.11).  Additionally, Gannon ranked third in the ECC in overall fill percentage (81.6%); 2nd in average first ball pinfall (8.915), third in overall spare conversion percentage (57.7%) and second on the conference player composite performance index (PCPI) outperforming 92.983% of bowlers within the conference.

Gannon bowled her best traditional game at the James Brown Invitational, scoring a 227 in the Griffins' match against Fayetteville State. She finished that tournament with a 201.80 traditional average, one of three tournaments that she had an averaged score of 200 or better.  Gannon's high tournament for the season was the Whitman Memorial where she averaged 208 over five traditional matches.  In Baker Format, Gannon averaged 20.05 with an 82.6% fill percentage in the Wildcat Invitational and had a 88% fill percentage at the Mount Shootout.

The Griffins are competing at the East Coast Conference Bowling Championships this weekend.  The Tournament is being held at the Coram Country Lanes in Coram, New York.
