The Chestnut Hill College Men's tennis team remained undefeated with their second win of the season, defeating Bloomsburg University 6-1 Wednesday afternoon in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania.
The Griffins improve to 2-0 while Bloomsburg falls to 0-1.
The Huskies took the first of three doubles matches as Lu Casimitana and Sergio Dilan defeated
Tono Franquis and
Tobi Michel 6-4 at #3 doubles.Â
Joao Sousa and
Tiago Lima followed with a 6-3 win at #2 doubles while
Tom Pitchley and
Noah Cutting clinched the doubles point with a 7-6 (7-2) win at #1 doubles.
Cutting followed his doubles win with Pitchley with a 6-0, 6-0 whitewashing of Casamitjana at #1 singles to give the Griffins a 2-0 lead in the match. Lima made a 3-0 with a 6-0, 6-2 win at #3 singles. Franquis clinched the match with a 6-0, 6-2 win to give Chestnut Hill a 4-0 lead.
Pitchley followed with a 6-4, 6-3 win at #2 singles before the Huskies scored their only point of the match as Oliver Wieseman defeated Michel 6-2, 6-1 at #6 singles, making the score 5-1. Sousa scored the final point for the Griffins with a 6-4, 6-3 win at #4 singles.
The Chestnut Hill College Men's Tennis Team returns to action on Saturday, September 17, 2022 when the host East Stroudsburg university at the CHC tennis Court. First serve is set for noon.
