Box Score Tom Pitchley and
Noah Cutting reached the round of 16 in singles competition at the 2022 ITA East Region Championship on Saturday before falling to seeded opponents, ending their respective tournament runs as the Chestnut Hill college Men's Tennis team concluded their competition at the U.S. Open Complex in Flushing, New York.
The Griffins' two double team entries also reached the round of 16 before bowing out on Saturday.
Pitchley, the #10 seed in the singles bracket opened the tournament with a 7-6 (8-6), 6-4 win over Skylar Ross of Dominican, then defeated Ludovico Trufelli of Saint Thomas Aquinas 6-4, 6-1 to advance to Saturday's round of 16. He faced #2 seed Cameron Henricy of Queens College in the round of 16, falling 6-4, 7-6 (10-6) to finish 2-1 in singles play.
Cutting, the #14 seed, defeated Fabian Sjokvist of Lemoyne College, 6-4, 6-1 to open his tournament then beat #22 seed Ody Papaioannou of Saint Thomas Aquinas, 6-4, 4-6 (10-3) before falling to #5 seed Kareem Rasheed of Queens 6-4, 6-3. Cutting also finished 2-1 in singles play.
Pitchley and Cutting were seeded #8 in doubles play and recorded a win in the round of 32 defeating Cade Nadeau and Phillip Roeder of SNHU 8-3 before losing to Mariano Bibiloni and Lucas Demuth of Queens (the #10 seed)  6-0, 2-6, 1-0 (15-13).Â

Joao Sousa and
Tiago Lima knocked off #13 seed Sjokvist and Alberto Diaz of Lemoyne 8-4 in the round of 32 before falling to #4 seed Tobias Fuerschauss and Don Lominique of STAC 6-3, 6-2 in the round of 16.
Singles wise- Lima went 1-1 with an opening round win over Ladhani of Dominican before falling in the round of 64 to Torres of SNHU.  Bibiloni of queens defeated Sousa in his only singles match in the round of 64.
The Chestnut Hill College Men's Tennis Team returns to action on October 11, 2022 with a non-conference match at Jefferson University.
