The Chestnut Hill College Men's soccer team was seeking their first conference win of the season as they hosted Alliance University Saturday afternoon at Victory Field #1 in Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania. After 90 minutes of action, however the Griffins and the Alliance team left the field settling for a 1-1 tie.
Chestnut Hill is now 0-4-2 on the season and 0-2-1 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference matches. Alliance (formerly Nyack College) is now 1-4-2 overall and 0-1-2 in league play.
After as scoreless first half, it was the Griffins who got on the board first as
Juan Ortiz kicked a cross pass to
George Katsiotis who kicked it past Alliance goalkeeper Marco Roessle for a 1-0 score.
The lead was shortlived as less than five minutes later Alliance's Javier plaza got a shot past CHC keeper
Stephen Connor for the equalizer.
Neither team scored the rest of the way. Connor finished the game with seven saves. Four on shots from Plaza. Roesse had five saves with two coming off the foot of Ortiz.
The Chestnut Hill College men's soccer team returns to action on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 when they host Daemen University. Kickoff is at noon on Victory field #1 in Lafayette Hill.
