The Chestnut Hill College Women's Soccer team dropped their second consecutive match Wednesday afternoon, falling to Caldwell University 3-1 sat the Caldwell Athletic fields in Caldwell, New Jersey.
The Griffins fall to 3-4-1 overall and 2-2 in Central Atlantic Collegiate conference games. The Cougars improve to 5-3-2 overall and 3-1-2 in league action.
Trailing 1-0 after one half of action, the Griffins tied the game early in the second half with a goal from
Elizabeth Deal who took a pass from
Alyssa DeGeorge to put the ball in the net at the 49:20 mark.
Caldwell went back on top in the 58
th minute on a penalty kick goal and added an insurance goal in the 65
th minute to round out the scoring.
Numbers-wise, the Griffins outshot the Cougars 10-9, but the Cougars were slightly more accurate with six of their shots on target than the Griffins' four.Â
Shaina Klos and
Lauren Sullivan led Chestnut Hill with two shots apiece. Klos, DeGeorge, Deal and
Rachel Apsley each had a shot on goal.Â
Ellie Stratz had three saves in net for the Griffins.
The Women's Soccer team returns to action on Saturday, October 14, 2023, when they host Post University in a CACC match at Victory Field in Lafayette Hill. Kickoff is set for 12:00 p.m.
