The Chestnut Hill College Women's Bowling team bowled their best game of the season as they split their four matches on the opening day of the Wildcat D2 Invitational Friday at Bowlerama in New Castle, Delaware.
Eryn Moore led the way for the Griffins, filling 92% of her frames and converting 96% of her spare attempts. The team currently sits in third place with a total pinfall of 4,421. Mercyhurst University leads after the first day with 4,594 pins and host Wilmington University is second with 4,498 pins.
The Griffins opened the competition with a 1003-865 win over Kutztown University, their highest game total of the season. Â
Kayleina McGonigal filled all ten of her frames while Moore and
Maddie Gannon filled nine frames apiece.
Caldwell University defeated the Griffins 867-838 in the second match with Moore filling all ten of her frames bowled and Gannon filling nine of ten frames.
Moore filled nine of ten frames in the Griffins' third match as they fell to Daemen 942-810.
After a bye in the fourth match that saw McGonigal filling eight of eight frames and
Jess Hollabaugh filling seven of eight frames along with Gannon filling eight of ten, the Griffins took on their newest CACC rival Holy Family University in their final match of the day.
Chestnut Hill cruised to an 899-595 win over the Tigers with Moore again filling all ten frames. Gannon and McGonigal filled eight of ten.
The women's bowling team continues play at the Wildcat division II invitational on Saturday, October 18, 2023, with five traditional format matches.
