The Chestnut Hill College Women's Tennis team opened the spring portion of their season with a tough 4-3 loss to division I Loyola University of Maryland Friday afternoon at the CHC Tennis Courts.
The Griffins fall to 7-8 with the loss while The Greyhounds improve to 2-3.
Chestnut Hill grabbed an early lead by taking two of the three doubles matches to earn the doubles point.Â
Carlota Garcia Arguelles teamed with
Romi Meirovich for a 6-4 win at #1 doubles over Olivia Tracey and Jessica Bodewes while
Claudia Rasilla and
Annika Wise defeated Taylor Kunci and Madison Metzdorf at #3 doubles, 6-4.
Rasilla and Wise were also the only two Griffins to win their singles matches as the Greyhounds took four of the six to capture the match. Wise defeated Metzdorf 6-2, 6-4 at #5 singles while Rasilla earned a hard fought 7-6 )7-4), 7-6 (7-2) win over Lauren Williamson at #6 singles to round out CHC's scoring.
The women's tennis team remains at home for their next match, a division II contest with Bloomsburg University on Saturday, March 4, 2023 at noon. The Griffins defeated the Huskies 7-0 at Bloomsburg back in September.
