The Chestnut Hill College men's Tennis team won their eighth match of the season, defeating Bloomsburg University, 7-0 Thursday afternoon at the CHC Tennis Courts.
The Griffins are now 8-6 overall on the season while the Huskies fall to 0-9.
CHC started the match in quick fashion, winning all three doubles contests.Â
Tom Pitchley and
Marcello Bozzone started things off with a 6-2 win over Arnav Sharma and Chaitanya Choudhary at #2 doubles with
Noah Cutting and
Antonio Franquis following with a 6-4 win over Vishnesh Patel and Oliver Wiesemann at #1 doubles. Â
Joao Sousa and
Devin Horsten completed the doubles sweep with a 6-2 win over Vini Moura and Landon Wall at #3 doubles.Â
Cutting gave the Griffins a 2-0 lead in the match with a 6-1, 6-1 win over Patel at #1 singles and Pitchley made it 3-0, winning 6-4, 6-3 over Sharma at #2 singles.Â
Tiago Lima then clinched the match win with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Wiesemann at #3 singles.
Franquis lost just one game in his win at #4 singles, defeating Choudhary 6-0, 6-1. Bozzone followed with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Moura at #6 singles.Â
Tobi Michel completed the sweep, defeating Wall, 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 at #5 singles.
The men's tennis team returns to action for a key conference match as they travel to Orangeburg, New York on Saturday to take on Dominican University. First serve is set for noon.
