The Chestnut Hill college men's tennis team recorded their second 7-0 sweep in four days, defeating Kutztown University 7-0 at the CHC Tennis courts Sunday afternoon.
The Griffins improve to 9-6 overall with the win.  Kutztown falls to 6-6.
Doubles play saw Griffins' Head coach
Eric Gibson rest several of his regulars, giving the younger players on the team a chance to shine – and shine they did as CHC swept the three matches to earn the doubles point.    The Griffins' regular top team of
Tom Pitchley and
Noah Cutting defeated Gonzalo Barcelo and Joaquin Perez 6-3 to start things off.
Siddharth Malik teamed with
Tobi Michel to earn their first collegiate doubles win as a team.  For Malik it was also his first collegiate win in a match.  The duo defeated Jacob Bosler and Luca Cherniak, 7-5 at #3 doubles.  Marcello
 Bozzone and
Devin Horsten completed the sweep with a 6-3 win over Justin Gincauskas and Sebastian Arizipe.
Moving into singles action, the Griffins top three singles players, Cutting, Pitchley and
João Sousa all won in straight sets.
Pedro Vicente needed a ten-point tiebreaker to defeat Emmitt Robinson 7-5, 4-6, 1-0 (10-7) at #4 singles.   Bozzone also needed the tiebreaker, defeating Gincauskas 0-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-5) at #6 singles.   Michel completed the sweep at #5 singles with a 6-3, 6-0 win over Arizipe.
