Chestnut Hill College student-athletes
Eryn Moore and
Hope Widmer have been named to the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Inaugural Women's Bowling All-Academic tTeam in an announcement made by the conference office.
The CACC recognized a total of 9 student-athletes on the 2022-23 women's bowling all-academic team. Four of the six CACC schools that compete in the sport were represented on the team, with three from Bloomfield college and two each from Caldwell University, Felician University and Chestnut Hill.
In order to be eligible for the CACC All-Academic Teams, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, must have been a student-athlete at their current school for at least two semesters, and must have achieved a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.50 or higher through the preceding semester.
Moore, recently earned the CACC's top XVII Award for having the highest grade point average among all the competitors competing at the CACC Championship Tournament. The sophomore bowler has a 3.98 grade point average while majoring in psychology. As a freshman last season, Moore was named to the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) all-Academic team as well as the East Coast Conference Commissioners Honor Roll. She has earned Dean's List honors in every semester at Chestnut Hill College and has been named to the CHC Athletic Academic Honor roll three times.
Widmer, a junior, is a two time NTCA all-Academic Team honoree and has been named to the ECC Commissioners Honor Roll in each of her first two academic years. In addition, Widmer has been named to the CHC Athletic Academic Honor roll five times. Widmer will also be inducted into Chi alpha sigma, the National Student Athlete Honor society at the athletic department's end of year awards reception in May.
The Chestnut Hill College women's bowling team advanced to the CACC Championship match at the inaugural CACC Tournament last month, losing to Caldwell University 2-0. Moore was named to the All-Tournament team.
