The Chestnut Hill College women's Tennis team closed out their season at regional powerhouse Saint Thomas Aquinas college Sunday afternoon, losing to the Spartans 6-1.
The Griffins conclude their season with a 9-12 record. STAC is now 17-3.
The Spartans took the doubles point with a default win at #3 doubles and a win at #2 doubles. The Griffins #1 doubles team of
Carlota Garcia Arguelles and
Romi Meirovich won their match 7-5 over Jemima Parkinson and Elita Silins.
The shorthanded Griffins had only five players available, so the Spartans picked up another point at #6 singles.
Nele Haag picked up the Griffins' only point with a win at #3 singles as Samanta Robles retired with Haag up 3-0 in the second set.
Leading 2-1, the Spartans clinched the match with wins at #2 and #4 singles. Garcia Arguelles lost her #2 singles match 6-1, 6-3 while Meirovich dropped her match at #4 singles, 6-3, 6-0.Â
STAC completed the match with wins at #1 singles and #5 singles.Â
Alison Isaac dropped her match at #1 singles 7-5, 7-6 (7-10 while
Claudia Rasilla lost at #5 singles, 6-4, 6-3.
The Griffins have concluded their season with the completion of the match.
