Noah Hammon scored six goals as the Chestnut Hill College Men's Lacrosse team won their fifth straight game, defeating Felician University 16-4 Thursday afternoon at victory Field in Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania.
The Griffins improve to 6-2 on the season and are 2-0 in central Atlantic Collegiate conference games. The golden Falcons fall to 2-5 overall and 1-1 in league play.
Hammon recorded the first six-goal game of his collegiate career and added an assist to finish with seven points, both high marks for the Griffins on the season. Â
Sam Slater scored four goals and had an assist to total five points.  Â
Nate Matthews and
Tommy Austin had two goals apiece. Eleven different CHC players had at least one assist on the afternoon.
Zach Schultz again produced a strong showing in the faceoff circle, winning 17 of 19 and recording season-high 14 ground balls. In his last three games, Schultz has won 45 of 52 faceoffs and has 35 ground balls.
Austin Jones allowed just three goals in three quarters of action while making seven saves.Â
Julius Sorino gave up a goal and had four saves in the fourth quarter.
Dan Grubb and
Daniel Myers had two caused turnovers apiece. Myers also had four ground balls.
Hammon staked the Griffins to a 1-0 lead less than a minute into the game and added two goals and an assist in the second as part of a 6-0 CHC second quarter run as the home team took command of the game with an 8-1 lead before Felician scored with just 44 seconds left in the first half, making the score 8-2 at halftime.
Slater had three of his four goals in the second quarter and scored his fourth of the game just 1:19 into the third quarter, giving the Griffins a 9-2 lead. Austin scored his second goal of the game just 35 seconds later and assisted on Hammon's fourth at the 11:44 mark. Hammon scored twice more in the third quarter, Matthews added an unassisted goal and
Cade Johnson closed out the third quarter scoring for CHC with a man-up goal with 4:50 left giving the Griffins a 15-2 lead at the time. Johnson also had three assists to finish the day with four points.Â
Matthews scored the Griffins' final goal with just 64 seconds left in the game with
Joseph Lojewski getting the assist and making the final score 16-4.

The men's lacrosse team returns to action on Wednesday April 12, 2023, for a key conference clash with Wilmington University at Victory field. First faceoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
