The Chestnut Hill College men's Tennis team lost their first home match of the season Wednesday afternoon as Jefferson University defeated the Griffins 6-1 at the CHC Tennis Courts.

The Griffins fall to 11-7 overall and 3-4 in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference games. Jefferson improves to 15-4 and 6-0 in league play. The loss snaps the Griffins' four match win streak.
Chestnut Hill's only point of the match came at #1 singles where
Noah Cutting defeated Hubert Theriault 6-2, 6-3.
Cutting also teamed up with
Antonio Franquis to win at #1 doubles, 6-2 over Jules Thibault and Enrique Soto but the Griffins dropped matches at #2 and #3 doubles allowing the Rams to secure the doubles point.Â
Jefferson took a 3-0 lead with wins at #6 and #5 singles before Cutting closed out his match to cut the score to 3-1. CHC lost their remaining three matches with Franquis' match vs. Antonio Mateos at #2 singles the only match besides Cutting's where a Chestnut Hill player won a set. Franquis eventually lost the match in a tiebreaker 6-3, 3-6, 0-1 (6-10).
The Griffins remain home for their next match as they host Post University on April 11, 2023. First serve is set for 2:00 p.m.
