Andrew Sawarynski had four hits a drove in a school record ten runs as the Chestnut Hill College baseball team won their final game of the season, 19-7 in game two over host Felician University Wednesday afternoon at Diamond Nation in Flemington, New Jersey.
With the win, the Griffins salvaged a split of their two game series with the Golden Falcons as Felician won the opener 7-5.  Chestnut Hill completes their season with an 18-27 record and a 12-12 record in Central Atlantic collegiate conference games.  Â
Chestnut Hill wasted no time in taking control of the nightcap, sending 17 men to the plate in the first inning and taking a 13-0 lead. Sawarynski had six RBI in the inning with a pair of bases-loaded doubles. Following his first bases-clearing two-bagger, the Griffins plated three more runs, first on a passed ball and the next two on wild pitches.Â
Nate O'Donnell then reached on an error bringing home
John Crane with the seventh run, all with nobody out. When Sawarynski came up to bat for the second time in the inning, the bases were again loaded, this time with two outs. Sawarynski delivered another double to left field, clearing the bases and giving CHC a 10-0 lead.Â
Brandon Long then singled Sawarynski home. A walk to
Ruben Pichardo followed by singles from Crane and
Greg Sylvester brought home the final two runs of the inning, giving the Griffins a 13-0 lead before the inning ended.
Sawarynski added three more RBI in the second inning with a three-run home run, for his seventh, eighth and ninth RBI of the game and a 16-4 CHC lead.
Felician got two back in the second to pull within ten and added another run in the third to make the score 16-7.

Justin Geiger singled with two out and Sawarynski followed with a single and went to second as Geiger raced around the bases to score from first, giving Sawarynski a record tenth RBI of the game and a 17-7 lead. CHC scored their final two runs in their last at-bat as O'Donnell hit into a run scoring fielder's choice and RJ Huth delivered a single. Earlier in the inning, Sylvester was hit by a pitch for the 14
th time this season (a school record). He finished his career one shy of the program record with 28. (Joseph Mullin had 29 from 2011-14)
Kade Breisblatt got the win in relief, pitching two innings, allowing two earned runs on five hits to improve to 2-5.
In the opener, Huth hit a two run home run in the third inning as the Griffins took an early 3-2 lead before Felician plated four runs in the bottom of the third to pull ahead 6-3 en route to a 7-5 win.
Felician jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second inning, taking advantage of an infield error by the Griffins. In the top half of the third Zach Ahmed led off with a single and Huth followed with a two-run home run, his fourth of the season, tying the game at 2-2. Two batters later
David Antone doubled home Geiger for a 3-2 Griffins lead.
The lead was short lived as the golden Falcons struck for four runs off Long who was unable to finish the inning and take a 6-3 lead.
Chestnut Hill closed within one in the fourth inning on Geiger's bases-loaded walk and Antone's centerfield single, cutting the lead to 6-5.
Felician added an insurance run in the fifth and held on for the 7-5 win.
Long took the loss, allowing six runs on three hits in two innings of work.
The Griffins 2023 season concluded with the doubleheader split.
