Men's Cross Country Competes in First Ever 6,000-meter Race to Open Season

The Chestnut Hill College Men's cross Country team opened their 2023 season at the Lehigh University Invitational in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on Friday, with the team competing in a 6,000-meter race for the first time in program history.

Three Griffins competed on the afternoon, led by junior Cole Stanchina.  Stanchina completed the 6K course in 18:54.9, establishing a new school standard for the 6,000-meter distance while placing 31st overall.  He was also the third non-Division I finisher at the race. 

Christopher Nelson followed in 57th place with a time of 19:42.6.  Jason Fisher was the final CHC finisher with a time of 20:18.8.

The men's cross country team returns to action on Saturday, September 10, 2023 when they compete at the Philadelphia Metro Championship at Belmont Plateau.  The race begins at 9:45 a.m.
