The Chestnut Hill College Men's Tennis team continued their fall season on Thursday with a 6-1 win over Ursinus College at UC's Ace Bailey Tennis Courts.
The Griffins improve to 2-1 with the win.
Chestnut Hill began the match by winning two of the three doubles matches to capture the doubles point. Siddharth Malik and Marcello Bozzone won at #3 doubles, 6-2 before the Bears took the #1 doubles match. Arnaud Vangenechten and Menno Raeymakers then clinched the doubles point for the Griffins with a 7-5 win at #2 doubles.
In singles play Alessio Lefebvre gave the Griffins a 2-0 lead with a 6-3, 6-3 win over Russell Nour at #6 singles and Enzo Puppi scored a 6-3, 6-3 win over Noah Dichter at #4 singles to make the score 3-0. Raeymaekers then clinched the win for the Griffins, defeating Teddy Snyder 6-3, 6-3 at #2 singles.
Ursinus won at #3 singles to get on the board before Vangenechten scored a 7-, 6-3 win over Andrei Bogdan at # 5 singles to make the score 5-1. Fillipo Relecom added the last point for the Griffins with a 6-3, 5-7, 1-0 910-6) win at #1 singles.
The men's tennis team returns to action at the St. Joseph's University Invitational starting on Friday, October 4, 2024, in Philadelphia.
