Women's Soccer Team Falls at Felician

The Chestnut Hill College Women's Soccer Team recorded a season-high 13 shots on goal in Saturday's match at Felician University.  However, the amount of shots would not translate into goals as the Golden Falcons pulled away with a 3-1 win in the match which was played at Newark Academy in Livingston, New Jersey.

The Griffins fall to 1-4-1 overall and 1-3 in Central Atlantic collegiate conference games. Felician improves to 1-7-2 overall and 1-4 in league play.

Rebecca Dalton got the Griffins on the board early with an unassisted goal just 7:22 into the first half.  Felician tied the game less than a minute later and took a 2-1 lead in the 28th minute.

The Golden Falcons added an insurance goal in 50th minute to complete the scoring in the contest as the hosts held on for a 3-1 win.

Virginia Perry and Alyssa DeGeorge had three shots on goal apiece while Antonia Linus added two.  Lauren Sullivan led the team with five shots on the evening (one on net.)

Ellie Stratz faced just five shots on goal in the game, recording two saves.

For the game, the Griffins out shot the Golden Falcons 22-13 (13-5 on net).

The women's soccer team returns to action with a conference match against CACC newcomer Lincoln University on Wednesday, October 9.  Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
