The Chestnut Hill college women's soccer team dropped a non-conference match at Mercy University Tuesday afternoon, falling to the Mavericks, 3-0 at Mercy field in Dobbs Ferry, New York.
The Griffins record drops to 1-5-1 overall while Mercy improves to 6-4.
Mercy jumped on the board early with a goal by Ancksu Dixon at the 6:26 mark and made it 2-0 on Amiah Washington's goal in the 31st minute. The Mavericks added their final goal in the 67th minute with a score from Skyler Schwenker.
Mercy outshot Chestnut Hill 15-9 in the contest (7-4 on net).Â
The Griffins got two shots on goal in the first half, one from Rebecca Dalton and the other from Lauren Sullivan. Virginia Perry and Antonia Linus had shots on goal in the second half.
Haley Esposito made four saves in goal for the Griffins.
The women's soccer team returns to action on Wednesday, October 9, 2024 with a game against conference newcomer Lincoln University at victory field. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m.
