Chase Clifford bowled a career-high 255 for Chestnut Hill in Saturday's third match at the Mount Shootout as the Griffins closed out match play with five traditional matches at Clearview Lanes to head into Sunday's bracket round in tenth place.
Chestnut Hill went 1-4 on the day and sit in tenth place with a two-day total pinfall of 9,231. North Carolina A&T University ranked #4 nationally sits atop the standings with a total pinfall of 10,533.Â

Clifford's 255 score was also the Griffins' best individual score in a traditional match this season.  Chestnut Hill fell to Mercyhurst 987-971 in the match which was also CHC's highest traditional team score this season.
Overall,
Eryn Moore led the Griffins on the afternoon with a 199.0 average, ranking 26
th among the 94 bowlers participating in the tournament.
The Griffins' lone win of the day came against fellow Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference school Dominican University. The Griffins defeated the Chargers 867-658.Â
Jess Hollabaugh led Chestnut Hill with a score of 210. Moore and
Kayleina McGonigal bowled 177 and 172, respectively.
New Jersey City University edged Chestnut Hill 908-875 in the opening match of the day as Clifford led the way with a score of 203. Moore followed with a score of 191.
Moore bowled 205 in the next match as the Griffins dropped the contest to Bryant University 981-893.
The Mercyhurst match followed as Clifford led three Griffin bowlers who eclipsed the 200-mark with her career high effort. Moore and McGonigal both had their high match scores of the day, 218 and 211 respectively but Mercyhurst pulled out a close 987-971 win.
The Griffins ended the day falling to host and #13 Mount Saint Mary's 1035-930. McGonigal led the way with a score of 209 while Moore recorded her third 200+ game of the day with a score of 204.Â
Maddy Feldschneider had a score of 195.
Chestnut Hill opens the best-of-seven baker bracket play on Sunday against 11
th place Alvernia University and will follow with two additional matches that will determine final placing.
The women's bowling team returns to action next weekend as they participate in the Wildcat DII/DIII Invitational at Bowlerama in New Castle, Delaware. Competition begins Friday February 16 and runs through Sunday, February 18.
