Griffins Pick up a Win on Day One of Griffin Baker Classic

The Chestnut Hill College Women's Bowling team hosted and competed at the Griffin Baker Classic on Saturday, picking up a win on the first day of competition at Bowlero in Limerick, Pennsylvania.

The Griffins went 1-4 on the first day, and currently sits in 12th place heading into the final day of competition on Sunday.

Eryn Moore led the Griffins on the day, filling 43 of 50 frames for an 86% fill rate.
Chestnut Hill earned their only win of the day in their second match, defeating Molloy University 880-858.  Kayleina McGonigal and Moore filled eight frames apiece.

The Griffins opened the day with a close loss to Belmont Abbey, who is the tournament leader after the first day.  CHC fell 911-859 with Moore filling nine of ten frames.  Chase Clifford and Abigail Crumb filled eight of ten.

After the Molloy win, the Griffins took on conference rival Wilmington University, losing to the Wildcats 998-835.   Maddy Feldschneider filled nine of ten frames while McGonigal, Moore and Jess Hollabaugh all filled eight of ten.

The Griffins faced Monmouth University for their fourth match, falling 915-821.  Feldschneider and Moore fill eight of ten frames apiece.

Moore filled all ten frames in the Griffins 960-937 loss to Mercyhurst to close out the afternoon.  The 937 score was CHC's highest match of the day.  Crumb   joined Moore with a high fill-rate, filling nine of ten frames in the match.

Competition resumes at 8:00 a.m. tomorrow for the second and final day of the Griffin Baker Classic.
