Bowling Team Celebrates Senior Day for Hollabaugh; Wins Three Matches on Final Day of Griffin Baker Classic

The Chestnut Hill College Women's Bowling team won three matches on the final day of the Baker Griffin Classic held at Bowlero in Limerick, Pennsylvania.

Chestnut Hill won one of the two baker matches to start the day and completed the tournament by winning both best-of-seven-baker bracket matches to finish the tournament in 12th place. The three wins give the Griffins a 4-5 record for the event as the team improved to 26-29 on the season.

Prior to Sunday's matches the Griffins held a Senior Day ceremony for their lone senior Jess Hollabaugh.  Hollabaugh then went out and recorded strikes on 50% of her shots in the four matches today.

Eryn Moore led the team filling 83.3% of her frames.

The Griffins opened the contest with an 852-707 win over Saint Thomas Aquinas College.  Hollabaugh filled all ten frames bowled while Moore filled eight of ten. Norfolk State defeated the Griffins 848-747 in the second baker match.  Moore filled eight of ten frames.

In the best-of-seven baker bracket matches, the Griffins opened with a 4-0 win over Dominican University.  The Griffins one the first game 162-113 and proceeded to sweep the next three 178-120, 138-128 and 179-144.  Moore and Kayleina McGonigal filled seven of eight frames.

The team produced an impressive set of games in their final best-of-seven match, averaging 205 as they beat St. Thomas Aquinas for the second time on the day, 4-0.  The Griffins won the first match 190-166 and then swept the next three, 224-155, 180-135 and 226-110.  Gabriella Munsey filled all eight frames and had seven strikes.  Hollabaugh recorded eight strikes in ten attempts while filling seven of eight frames.  Maddy Feldschneider also filled seven of eight frames. 

 The women's bowling team returns to action on February 9th when the begin competition sat the Mount Invitational, hosted by Mount St. Mary's University.  The event is being held at Clearview Lanes in Mount joy, Pennsylvania and runs through February 11.
