The Chestnut Hill College Men's Tennis team played their home opener Monday afternoon, easily defeating Indiana University East in a sweep, 7-0, at the CHC Tennis courts.
The Griffins improve to 3-1 with the win while the Red Wolves drop to 1-4.

Chestnut Hill started the match by sweeping all three doubles contests as the Red Wolves won just one game over the three matches.Â
Noah Cutting and
Antonio Franquis defeated Sebastian Torrealba and Kyle Hollingsworth 6-1 at #1 doubles followed by
Tiago Lima and
Joao Sousa winning 6-0 over Bryce Wennen and Jace Wilkerson at #3 doubles.Â
Devin Horsten and
Arnaud Vangenechten completed the sweep with a 6-0 win over Bryson Hale and Clay Connor.
Cutting gave the Griffins a 2-0 lead with a 6-2, 6-0 win over Torrealba at #1 singles and Sousa made the score 3-0 with a double-bagel win 6-0, 6-0 over Wilkerson. Franquis then clinched the match for the Griffins with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Hollingsworth at #2 singles.
Lima won his match at #3 singles, defeating Wennen 6-0, 6-1 and
Menno Raemaekers recorded the Griffins' second double-bagel win of the day, defeating Leonardo Calderon 6-0, 6-0 at #6 singles.Â
Siddarth Malik rounded out the Griffins' singles winners and completed the sweep with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Conner.

The men's tennis team returns to action on Saturday, March 16, 2024, with a road match at Muhlenberg University. First serve is set for 12:00 p.m.
