The Chestnut Hill College Women's Softball team opened Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference play Saturday afternoon with a doubleheader at Felician University, where the Golden Falcons swept both games of the twinbill, 5-4 and 7-0.
The Griffins fall to 1-7 overall and 0-2 in league play. Felician improves to 7-15 overall and 2-0 in conference games.
Felician's Riley Williams tossed a perfect game against the Griffins in game two, retiring all 21 batters.
In the opener,
Skyler Cunningham had two hits and drove in three runs for the Griffins.Â
Mianna Lopez DelHaro accounted for the other two Chestnut Hill hits.Â
Gabriella Quinones took the loss throwing six innings, allowing five runs (three earned).
Cunningham had a two run double in the first inning and an RBI single in the third.Â
Kayla Rolon gave the Griffins a 4-3 lead plating Lopez DelHaro with a fielder's choice.
The lead was still 4-3 with the Golden Falcons down to their last at-bat. In the seventh inning, Felician put the first two runners on with both eventually moving into scoring position with one out. A single by Victorie Leon then brought both runners home to end the game and give the Golden Falcons a 5-4 win.  Â
The softball team returns to action with their home opener, as doubleheader against Wilmington University. First pitch is at 2 PM at the CHC Softball field.
