Bowling Team Earns Two Wins on First Day of Northeast Season-Ender Tournament

In their final regular season tournament of the 2023-24 season, the Chestnut Hill College women's bowling team secured two wins at the Northeast Season Ender at Bowlerama in Wilmington, Delaware on Saturday.

The Griffins improve to 39-56 on the season.  The team currently sits in 13th place after the first day with a total pinfall of 4,392.  Merrimack College is first with a pinfall of 5,068.

Chestnut Hill earned wins against Molloy University and Mercyhurst University in their final two matches of the afternoon.

Jess Hollabaugh and Eryn Moore each bowled 201 in the Griffins' 886-824 win over Molloy while Kayleina McGonigal added a score of 170.   

McGonigal had her high match of the day in CHC's 934-931 win over Mercyhurst.  Chase Clifford bowled a 201 while Moore scored 182.

The Griffins' high team score of the day came in their first match of the day as they fell to nationally ranked mount St. Mary's University (#12) 1006-938.  Abigail Crumb led the team with a score of 222, the Griffins' individual high score of the day.  Hollabaugh and Clifford had their high matches of the day as well with scores of 206 and 204, respectively.

Moore bowled her high match of the day with a score of 213 in CHC's 862-814 loss to #24 Delaware State University.  The Griffins also dropped their match against Bryant university, falling 979-820.  Moore was also Griffins' high scorer in this match, bowling 188.

The women's bowling team will conclude their regular season with the Baker format portion of the Northeast Season ender Tournament on Sunday, March 17, 2024.  The Central Atlantic Collegiate conference Championship Tournament begins on Friday, March 22, 2024.  The #4 seed Griffins will face #5 Bloomfield college in the first match of the day with an 8:30 AM start time at Pike Lanes in Southampton, Pennsylvania.
