The Chestnut Hill College Women's Bowling team closed out the regular season Sunday with three wins at the Northeast Season Ender at Bowlerama in New Castle, Delaware.
Overall, the Griffins finished in 13th place among the 17 schools competing. The three wins give the Griffins a regular season record of 42-58 as they head into the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Championship Tournament on Friday.
The Griffins won their final two matches of the day, defeating Molloy University in a best-of-seven baker match 4-1 and in a standard baker format match, defeated New Jersey City University 846-705.
In the best-of-seven baker match against the Lions, the Griffins took the first three games, 222-179, 201-157 and 216-204. Molloy won game four 223-157 before the Griffins captured the match with a 199-192 win in game five.Â
Maddy Feldschneider, Kayleina McGonigal and
Eryn Moore filled nine of ten frames each in the match.
Jess Hollabaugh filled eight of ten frames in the win over NJCU.
The Griffins other win on the day came in their second match as they defeated St. Thomas Aquinas college 856-723. Moore and
Gabriella Munsey filled nine of ten frames apiece.
Chestnut Hill opened the day with a narrow 897-881 loss to Kutztown University. Hollabaugh and
Abigail Crumb filled nine of ten frames.Â
The only other loss suffered by the Griffins came in the third game when CHC was defeated by William Smith College, 963-907. McGonigal and
Chase Clifford filled nine of ten frames apiece in the contest.
The women's bowling team will be competing at the CACC Tournament Championship beginning on Friday, March 22, 2024. The Griffins as the #4 seed will face the #5 seed Bloomfield College in the first match of the day at 8:30 am. At Pike Lanes in Southampton, Pennsylvania. A win and the Griffins move to the double elimination portion of the tournament beginning with a match against #1 seed Caldwell at 1:30 p.m. competition on Saturday will begin at 8:30 a.m.
