The Chestnut Hill College Women's Tennis team traveled south to play Goldey-Beacom College Sunday in their second spring match of 2024, losing a tough match to the Lightning 4-3.
The Griffins fall to 9-8Â while the Lightning improve to 4-13.
Chestnut Hill opened the match by taking two of the three doubles contests.  After the Lightning won at #1 doubles, the #2 doubles team of
Alison Isaac and
Nele Haag earned a 6-2 win over Nahomi Quinonez and Jess Sanzo.Â
Claudia Rasilla and
Elena Arenas then clinched the doubles point for the Griffins with a 6-3 win at #3 doubles.Â
Romi Meirovich gave the Griffins a 2-0 lead in the match with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Quinonez at #3 singles.Â
The Lightning then won four straight singles matches to clinch the match.  Isaac won the final match of the day, defeating Elizabeth Mova 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 at #1 singles.
The women's tennis team returns to action on Thursday, April 18, 2024 when they host West Virginia Wesleyan University. First serve is at 3 p.m. at the CHC Tennis Courts.
